David graduated from Queen’s University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Commerce.  He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982 and completed an MBA at York University in 1986 with a specialization in strategic planning.

David has a mix of clients comprised of small businesses, professionals, not-for-profit organizations and farm operations.  In addition to providing accounting and tax services to these clients, he regularly provides Quick Books support.  The Quick Books support involves any and all of the following:  set-up of a new company, training and on-going problem-solving.  David spends the majority of March and April each year working with personal tax clients.

David is a business resource to his clients in a broad capacity beyond the financial aspects of their businesses.  In addition, he has been involved in many special projects, a few of which have been highlighted below.

He has completed several fraud investigations for not-for-profit organizations.  His report, and in some cases expert witness testimony, resulted in the organizations obtaining full restitution.

David has been on assignment to several small and medium-sized businesses where he temporarily acted as controller or financial manager.  In these roles, he strengthened the financial group in these companies by redefining roles of existing financial personnel and recruiting of a permanent controller or financial manager to take over from him.

He undertook three separate assignments for a public company in the United States that was rapidly expanding via acquisitions.  Each of these subsidiaries were under-performing.  He did operations reviews to improve efficiency in all areas of these subsidiaries, changed processes, redefined employee roles, hired new personnel, shut down unprofitable divisions and installed new computer systems.

He assisted a medium-sized company with the financing of a multi-million dollar expansion.

When not working, David enjoys working on projects around the home, as well as, snowmobiling, tennis, canoeing, sailing and horseback riding.  He is a loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and enjoys watching the Toronto Blue Jays.
