Bates & Bates Welcomes Scott Bates

We are excited to announce the addition of our son, Scott Bates to the firm as a new partner. Scott has watched our family business grow over the past 25 years, and is proud to join our team as the business continues to grow.

After growing up in East Gwillimbury community, Scott completed his Bachelor of Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University before moving to Ottawa to start his career. After seven years in Ottawa, Scott and his Fiancée have moved to Mount Albert and are very excited to be back in East Gwillimbury.

Scott joins us from a senior management position at a mid-sized local accounting firm in Ottawa. There his career has been focused on working with other owner managed businesses, professionals and not-for-profit organizations. He enjoys working with business owners, management and directors to help them achieve their goals and objectives. His experience brings a strong compliment of accounting, assurance, tax and business advisory skills enabling him to help clients across many different industries.

Outside of the office, Scott has used his expertise, volunteering in the community. Most recently, he sat as a volunteer audit committee member for Roger Neilson House – a charity providing children’s pediatric care services. When Scott isn’t working, you can find him on the rink playing hockey, hitting the slopes or relaxing at the lake with friends and family.
